Fumbling around, “I think I turn here” . . . CLUNK . . . “Owwwww, my head!” Turn and reach . . . BANG . . . @#$!&^! . . . my foot! My wife might think this is a re-enactment of our first dance on our wedding day, but no, it is me going into my garage last week to get a shovel. It was dark outside, and I opened the side door to the garage to find the shovel and I had to try to navigate my way to the pull-switch for our light. This doesn’t sound all that difficult, BUT when your garage is littered with kid’s toys, kid’s bikes, garbage cans, boxes and anything else you can think of, it turns out to be the equivalent of doing an obstacle course in the dark.
Thankfully, I have found my garage savior! It is Mr Beams Wireless Anywhere Ceiling Light.
This Mr Beams light is a life shin saver. The concept of having a wireless light that can be placed anywhere is great, but when you add the fact that it’s a wireless motion detecting light, this is awesome! I simply installed Mr Beams in the garage with the 2 screws that came with it.
Every time I’ve opened the door to the garage since, I’ve been greeted by a bright shining light. I feel like I’m in the movies, where the actor sees a light or gets an idea and then you hear a chorus of angels sing “aaaaahhhh” in the back ground.
Since installing the Mr Beams Wireless Anywhere Light, there’s been no more bumping into everything and no more random bruises on my shins from running into the kid’s bikes. I know it is a simple thing, but those are the things that, as a parent, bring me the most joy – something that solves a problem in a very easy way so I can spend more time with the kids.
When we first moved in, I thought one day I would put a light in the garage with a switch by the door, but it is something that I just never got to doing. Now I don’t have to!
The best thing about having this motion light in the garage, is that now I don’t feel bad if Tired Mom Tesa has to go to the garage at night to get something.
Now that Tired Mom Tesa has seen how the Mr Beams light works, it has us both thinking that we need to buy more. We keep coming up with places we could put them. We could put one on the ceiling of our stairway – this way if anyone has to climb the stairs in the middle of the night, it would add an extra light. We could put one going downstairs, in the side hall, in the kitchen for when I sneak out for a late-night snack, the options are limitless.
BUY IT! Fortunately, readers of 2 Wired 2 Tired can pick up Mr Beams online for 20% off by using the promo code: MRBEAMS46. And when you order, just remember, once you have one, you’ll find yourself spending a lot of time thinking of spots to put another one!
